Great Britain to host Sweden in men’s softball series

The international games will be played on 28-29 May at Farnham Park National Baseball and Softball Complex.

World No. 22 Great Britain will host No. 29 Sweden in a WBSC-sanctioned three-game men’s softball series, to be played 28-29 May at Farnham Park National Baseball and Softball Complex. 

The series marks the Great Britain Men’s National Softball Team’s first international games since 2018.

The Swedish team will also face off against Great Britain’s U-23 Men’s National Softball Team and a Great Britain Fastpitch League all-star team.

SCHEDULE

Saturday 28 May

  • 10.00 am -- Sweden v GBFL Invitational Team
  • 2.00 pm -- Sweden v GB Under-23 Men
  • 4.15 pm -- Baseball5 game involving the GB Cubs Under-13 Girls’ Fastpitch Team
  • 6.00 pm – Sweden v GB Men’s Team

Sunday 29 May

  • 9.00 am -- Sweden vs GB Men’s Team
  • 12.00 pm – Sweden v GB Men’s Team

“This series will act as trials for our home-grown talent for the Men’s European Championship next year,” said Great Britain Head Coach Colin Barrett.

The U-23 National Team will include 14 of the squad selected for the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup European qualifier to be held in the Czech Republic in early July.
