WBSC Europe announced this past weekend the groups for the Women’s European Softball Championship and the U-15 Women’s European Championship, both of them qualifiers for their respective Softball World Cups. The continental governing body also unveiled the groups for the U-22 Women’s European Softball Championship.
The Women’s European Softball Championship will be played in Sant Boi, Spain, in July. The 22 participating teams have been divided into four groups:
- Group A: Italy, Russia, Poland, Ireland, and Belgium;
- Group B: Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Great Britain, and Greece;
- Group C: Czech Republic, France, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, and Malta;
- Group D: Israel, Spain, Ukraine, Slovakia, Turkey, and Finland.
The 11 participating teams in the U-15 European Championship (to be played in Enschede, Netherlands, July 18 – 23) will start the tournament in two groups:
- Group A: Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Croatia, and Poland;
- Group B: Italy, Czech Republic, Ukraine, France, Great Britain, Lithuania.
Finally, the 2022 U-22 Women's Softball European Championship Teams will be divided into four groups:
- Group A: Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, and Croatia;
- Group B: Netherlands, Belgium, Ukraine, Spain, and Sweden;
- Group C: Ireland, Czech Republic, Israel, and France;
- Group D: Great Britain, Russia, Austria, and Hungary.
The tournament is slated to be played from 27 June to 2 July in Kunovice, Czech Republic.
