Groups announced for Premier12 2024 presented by RAXUS

The WBSC flagship tournament is scheduled from 10 to 24 November in Mexico, Taiwan, and Japan.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced the two groups for the Premier12 2024 presented by RAXUS. The 12 participants qualified through the WBSC/KONAMI World Rankings.

World No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 USA, No. 6 Venezuela, No. 7 Netherlands, No. 10 Panama and No. 12 Puerto Rico will compete in Group A from 10 to 14 November at the Charros de Jalisco Pan American Stadium in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and the Santa Teresita Stadium in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.

No. 1 Japan, No. 4 Korea, No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 8 Cuba, No. 9 Dominican Republic and No. 11 Australia will play in Group B.

Group B will open on 13 November with Japan playing Australia at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya, along with games at the Taipei Dome and the Tianmu Stadium in Taipei City. The Taipei Dome and Tianmu Stadium will host the remaining 12 games through 18 November.

After round-robin play, the top two finishers of each group will compete in the Super Round. The first and second-place teams of the Super Round will compete in the Premier12 Championship game, while the third and fourth-place finishers will play for a bronze medal.

The Tokyo Dome will host the Super Round (21-23 November).

The medal games are scheduled for 24 November.

The top 12 teams at the WBSC/KONAMI Men's Baseball World Ranking on 31 December 2023 qualified for the third edition of the Premier12, the most significant international baseball event of this year.

Korea won the inaugural WBSC Premier12 in 2015 while Japan defeated Korea in the 2019 final.
