Heather Tarr returns as USA Softball Women's National Team head coach, aims to win WBSC Women's Softball World Cup Finals

USA Softball announced the coaching staff selected to guide the Women’s National Team at the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Finals this summer in Castions di Strada, Italy. Chosen by the Women’s National Team Selection Committee, Heather Tarr will once again lead the team as head coach, joined by assistant coaches, Kyla Holas (who also serves as the Junior National Team head coach), Jimmy Kolatis and Tim Walton.

Marking her third season as head coach of the USA Women’s National Softball Team, Tarr boasts an exemplary record with USA, most recently guiding the Eagles to a first-place finish at the 2023 WBSC World Cup Group Stage event and an undefeated run to stand on top of the podium at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games last year. 

Among her international accomplishments as head coach, Tarr led USA to a monumental gold medal finish at The World Games 2022 alongside returning assistant Tim Walton, who also helped guide the Eagles during the 2023 season. Adding to the squad’s resume, assistant coach Kyla Holas previously led the U-15 Women's Team to the World Title in 2023, while Jimmy Kolatis coached alongside Holas at the 2023 U-15 World Cup.

The WBSC Women’s World Cup Finals are slated for July 15-21, 2024, in Castions di Strada, Italy. World No. 1 USA, holder of the three WBSC women's softball world titles, will open the Finals in Group A, going head to head with No. 5 Canada, No. 6 Italy and No. 15 China. In Group B will play No. 2 Japan, No. 3 Puerto Rico, No. 8 Netherlands and No. 10 Australia.

From 4-8 July, USA will play the All-Star Series against Japan. The three games will be played in Nagoya, Fujinomiya and Yokohama.
