Hong Kong to host II WBSC Baseball5 World Cup from 7 to 12 October 2024

The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China will host the 12-team tournament at the Central Harbourfront Event Space.

The Central Harbourfront Event Space in Hong Kong will host the second WBSC Baseball5 World Cup from 7 to 12 October 2024.

Located in Central Hong Kong, the space offers almost 36,000 square metres (387,500 square feet) of outdoor, open-air space with easy accessibility to public transportation.

The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China will set up two Baseball5 fields using SES Battle III, a new type of rubber material elastic floor positioned as a high-end sports floor for outdoor sports courts, which is environment-friendly, elastic and flexible, and has excellent shock absorption and sports performance.

Hong Kong, China is currently No. 22 in Baseball5 World Rankings. The WBSC published the latest update on 16 November.

The II WBSC Baseball5 World Cup will be a 12-team tournament. Four National Teams have qualified to date:

Americas (3)
Asia (3)
Europe (2) France, Lithuania
Oceania (1)
Wild Card (1)

Cuba defeated Japan in the final to win the inaugural Baseball5 World Cup, played in inspirational El Zocalo, the world-famous square in Mexico City, in late 2022 and is the defending Baseball5 World Champion.
