Hosting cities and date of European Championship 2014 revealed

Prague, 18th November 2013 – Confederation of European Baseball and organizer of EURO 2014 Czech Baseball Association set dates and cities for European Championship 2014. Tournament will be played from 12th September to 21st September 2014 and will be played in four cities.

Prague, 18th November 2013 – Confederation of European Baseball and organizer of EURO 2014 Czech Baseball Association set dates and cities for European Championship 2014. Tournament will be played from 12th September to 21st September 2014 and will be played in four cities.

First round will take place in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and Regensburg, Germany, from 12th September to 16th September. Group A in Regensburg will host home team of Germany and teams of Belgium, France, Italy, Sweden and newly qualified Great Britain. Group B in Ostrava consists of national teams of Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, the Netherlands, Spain and qualified Russia.

Advancing teams to second round will travel to Brno, Czech Republic. Play down will be played in the near town Trebic. Second round will be played from 17th September to 21st September. Brno as a final group city was chosen especially due to its municipality support. Height of financial support will be approved by the municipality government on December.

All four cities have big experience with hosting international baseball tournaments. In past few years Regensburg hosted World Baseball Classic Qualifier (2012) and First Round of the 2009 Baseball World Cup, Ostrava organized World University Baseball Championship (2008) and European Cup (2009), Brno and Trebic hosted European Championships U21 and U15.
