Indonesia celebrates 77th Independence Day with first national baseball league

The first Indonesia Baseball League took place from 21 to 26 August. An All-Star team participated in an international tournament with the National Teams of Malaysia and Singapore and a team representing the Korean community.

The Indonesia Baseball and Softball League (LBSI) celebrated the 77th anniversary of Indonesian Independence with the first Indonesia Baseball League.

Independence Day is on 17 August. The tournament took place from 21 to 26 August at the GBK Baseball Stadium in Jakarta and involved six teams: Baladewa, Garuda, Gorgeous, Flash, Cheetas and Prambors.

On 27 and 28 August, an Indonesia Baseball League All-Star side participated in the four-team National Sports Committee of Indonesia (Koni) Cup with the National Teams of Malaysia, Singapore, and a team representing the Korean community (IKBO).

The Indonesia All-Stars outscored the opponents, 32-5 with Indonesian slugger Aditya Mahmud earning MVP honours.
