Israel’s Olympic baseball roster revealed, Ian Kinsler headlines team

Israel will open their Tokyo 2020 Olympic tournament in Group B and face defending Olympic gold medallists Korea in their first game on 29 July at Yokohama Stadium.

Israel’s National Baseball Team has revealed their 24-man Tokyo 2020 Olympic roster, notifying the World Softball Baseball Confederation and the Israeli Olympic Committee.

The Israeli squad is headlined by former big leaguer Ian Kinsler, who was a part of USA’s 2017 World Baseball Classic championship team. The four-time MLB All-Star was also part of the Boston Red Sox’s 2018 World Series championship team.

Israel will be making their Olympic baseball debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, having won the 2019 WBSC Europe/Africa Qualifier.

Israel will open their Tokyo 2020 Olympic tournament in Group B and face defending Olympic gold medallists Korea in their first game on 29 July at Yokohama Stadium. The team will then face USA on the 30th.
