Jae-ho Choi to manage Korean U-18 National Baseball Team

He led Gangneung High School to their first national title in 45 years.

The Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) has named Jae-ho Choi as the new the manager of the Korean U-18 National Baseball Team.

Choi was born in 1961 and was a shortstop during his high school playing days.

He has had a successful career as a high school baseball coach. After leading the Gangneung High School to their first national championship in 45 years, he was named the Coach of the Year 2020.

Choi served as a KBSA baseball commissioner in 2015 and 2016.

Korea will play in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup 2021, to be hosted by USA Baseball in Bradenton, Florida, from 10 to 19 September. Korea earned the bronze medal at the previous WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, which was played on home soil in Gijang in 2019.
