Jakey Josefa leads Netherlands to emotional walk off win over Canada

Canada took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the seventh and needed only two more strikes. Jakey Josefa hit a two-RBI triple and then scored the winning run on a throwing error.

In the bottom of the seventh with world No. 12 Canada leading 2-0 and needing just two more strikes from reliever Felix Morin, Jakey Josefa worked a 1-1 count, before getting to the left-hander's third pitch, turning it into a two-RBI triple. He scored on a throwing error, giving world No. 8 the Netherlands an emotional 3-2 win over Canada.

The game developed as a pitching duel. Dutch starter Brandon Herbold left with one runner on third and one out in the sixth. Reliever Stij Van der Schaaf walked a batter, then got out of the jam.

Canda's starter Reece Usselman allowed only two hits over 5.1 innings.

Canada scored on two doubles. Sam White doubled in the first run of the game in the top of the fourth. Second baseman Dylan O'Rae made it 2-0 on a two-base hit off Van der Schaaf in the top of the seventh.

Canada's reliever Morin got two quick outs in the bottom of the seventh however pinch hitter Justin Dambruck singled, and Morin hit Alexander Albertus to bring Josefa to the plate.

After the second baseman tripled, Canada intentionally walked shortstop Kendrey Maduro. Gedionne Marlin hit a grounder to shortstop. Tyrus Hall threw the ball away from the bag, and Sam White couldn't apply the tag in time.
