Japan and Chinese Taipei show consistency at top of WBSC/KONAMI Women's Baseball World Ranking

The two Asian power houses maintained No. 1 and No. 2 spots over the last two-year period.

World No. 1 Japan and No. 2 Chinese Taipei maintained their top positions throughout 2023 by finishing on top of the WBSC/KONAMI Women's Baseball World Ranking with 765 points and 662 points respectively. Venezuela, fifth at the start of the year, finished in third place on 581 points.

The top six positions of the Women's World Rankings are unchanged since the last update on 22 September. Canada (428) and Cuba (350) climbed one step and reached No. 7 and No. 9 respectively.

The ranking doesn't record any other change in the top 10. No. 11 Australia (264) and No. 12 France (180) moved up two positions to become the most improved programmes in positions 11-20.

The historical analysis of the WBSC/KONAMI Women's Baseball World Ranking confirms the consistency of Japan and Chinese Taipei. The No. 1 and 2 programmes were first and second at the end of 2021 and have remained in these positions through the last couple of years.

The two-year period cost the Dominican Republic, now No. 18, 12 positions. No. 23 Netherlands fell 10 places. Canada (now No. 7) lost four positions.
