JD.League Diamond Series 2022 to be played in Chiba in November

ZOZO Marine Stadium hosted the WBSC Women’s Softball World Championship 2018 finals, where USA defeated Japan, 7-6, in an instant classic.

JD.League has revealed that ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba, Chiba Prefecture, will be the site for the JD.League Diamond Series 2022. The final series will be held from 11-12 November. In addition, the playoffs will be held from 5-6 November at Okazaki Red Diamond Stadium in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture.

After the regular season, the top teams in the East and West Divisions standings will qualify directly for the JD.League Diamond Series semifinals on 11 November. Second and third place of the two divisions will advance to the playoffs, along with the best fourth qualified team, to determine the two other semifinalists. 

This is the first season of the newly launched JD.League, which replaced the Japanese Softball League. 

After the first half of the season, three-time defending champions Bic Camera Takasaki leads the standings in the East Division with 17-4 record; while Monica Abbott’s Toyota Red Terriers are on top of the standings in the West Division.
