Jeong Choi returns from injury, becomes KBO All Time Home Run King

He delivered the record shot as the SSG Landers defeated the Lotte Giants on the road, 12-7. Choi missed some games after being hit by a pitch. He also holds this record.

WBSC Premier12 star Jeong Choi hit his 468th career home run to become the sole Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league Home Run King. Choi had tied five-time league MVP Seung-Yeop Lee for the most home runs (467) on 16 April.

Choi, 37, hit his home run in the top of the fifth as the SSG Landers defeated the Lotte Giants, 12-7.

It was the Landers' 15th win this season. Their record is 15-11 with one draw. The Landers are in third place and trail the leading Kia Tigers by four games.

Choi returned to the lineup this week. He missed some games after he was hit by a pitch and suffered a bruised rib.

It was the 330th time Choi had been hit by a pitch. This is by far the KBO record, but it is reportedly also a world record, even considering other professional leagues. The record earned Choi the Magnet Jeong nickname.
