TOKYO — South Korea National Team outfielder Hyun-soo Kim (Doosan Bears – KBO) was named the Most Valuable Player of the inaugural WBSC Premier12, the world governing body announced following the global tournament’s final contest.

In the championship finale versus world No. 2 USA, Kim collected three hits and three RBIs to help power No. 8 Korea to the world title, for which he was named the Hublot Player of the Game.

During the two-week elite global tournament that brought together the Top 12 nations in the world for the first time, Kim led his nation with 10 RBIs and was second overall, only behind the 13 of Samurai Japan National Team slugger Sho Nakata (Nippon Ham Fighters – NPB).

Kim was also named a member of the first-ever WBSC Premier12 ‘All-World’ Team.
