Lobas de Arecibo and Artesanas de las Piedras to compete for Puerto Rico's Women's Baseball Double-A title

The best-of-five series is set to open on 8 January. Lobas defeated Artesanas in the 2021-2022 final series.

Lobas de Arecibo and Artesanas de Las Piedras will compete for the Puerto Rico Women's Double-A League title for the second year in a row. Lobas defeated Artesanas in the 2021 best-of-five series.

This edition's final series will open on Sunday, 8 January 2023, at Estadio Gregoria Tejada in Arecibo.

Both Lobas and Artesanas swept their semifinal series. The Lobas defeated Maceteras de Vega Alta, while the Artesanas beat Las Poetas de Juana Diaz.

Lobas de Arecibo has won 10 of the last 12 editions of the league. They will enter the final series with a perfect 13-0 record, 15-0, including the previous edition's postseason.

Kiara Resto, who played third base for the Lobas, posted a remarkable .775 batting average to lead the season's hitters. She also led the league in doubles (7) and became the best run scorer with 26.

Adrix Paradizo and Jenny Ortiz (Lobas de Arecibo) shared honours as the best run producers with 20 runs batted in. Paradizo also led the league in triples, together with her teammate Eva Torres, with three.

Janiliz Rivera (Lobas de Arecibo) was the most dominant pitcher. She finished with a 4-0 record and didn't allow a run in 14.2 innings pitched.

Angelis Rivera (Artesanas de Las Piedras) led the league in strikeouts with 29 and also posted a perfect 4-0 record.
