Los Dantos from Managua won Nicaragua's 2021 First Division Baseball Championship (Campeonato Nacional de Béisbol Superior Germán Pomares).

Los Dantos defeated the Los Indigenes de Matagalpa,3-2, in Game 7, which was witnessed by 15,000 fans at the Dennis Martinez Stadium in Managua.

Los Dantos came from behind, scoring two runs off closer Berman Espinoza in the bottom of the ninth. Janior Montes batted in the winning run.

Los Dantos manager Lenin Picota, a former star pitcher who helped Panama win silver at the Baseball World Cup 2003, commented: "We didn't give up. I tip my hat to the effort of my players and to our fans, who never let us down."

Left-hander Danilo Bermudez earned MVP honours.

It's the third title for Los Dantos since the Pomares championship inaugurated a new era in 2009, the seventh since the league inaugurated in 1970.

The First Division championship is organized by Nicaragua's Superior Baseball Commission (CNBS, Comision Nicaraguense de Béisbol Superior). It features 18 participating teams, each representing one of the regions of Nicaragua. It is the second-tier of competition in the country, below the professional Winter League (LBPN, Liga de Béisbol Profesional Nacional).
