Major Baseball National Championship 'A' to open in Nicaragua

The opening ceremony was celebrated at the 'Mario Treminio' Stadium in Malpasillo, León, on Friday, 8 May. The first games are scheduled for 11 May, the finals for Saturday 16 May.

The Baseball Federation of Nicaragua (FENIBA) announced that its Major National Championship A (Campeonato Nacional Mayor A), named after Hall of Famer Eduardo Green Sinclair, will open on Monday, 11 May, without any restrictions in relation to coronavirus safety measures.

The Mario Treminio Stadium in Malpasillo, León, hosted on Friday, 8 May, the opening ceremony of the event. Personalities such as the Mayor of Larreynaga, Enrique Gomez, Everth Delgadillo, Everth López as well as Baseball legends such as Julio Medina, Andrés Torres, Julio Vallejos, Álvaro Muñoz and 1990s superstar Mario Treminio, himself attended the opening ceremony.

This will be the 41st edition of the championship, which features 18 teams and is promoted by the Nicaraguan Baseball Federation (FENIBA).

The finals are scheduled for Saturday, 16 May, at the Mario Treminio stadium.
