Malaysia to host WBSC Asia Youth Baseball5 World Cup qualifier

The seven-team tournament will qualify three teams for the inaugural WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

The Grand Ballroom in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will host the inaugural Youth Baseball5 Asia Cup. The tournament, which runs from 8 to 11 February, will qualify the top-three finishers to the first-ever WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup.

Seven National Teams will participate in the tournament: China, world No. 18 Hong Kong-China, India, No. 12 Korea, No. 24 Malaysia, No. 28 Singapore and No. 2 Chinese Taipei.

Malaysia also hosted the Asia qualification tournament for the inaugural WBSC Baseball5 World Cup last year, which saw Chinese Taipei, Japan and Korea advance.

France and Türkiye are so far the only National Teams qualified for the inaugural WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup. The WBSC Africa qualifier is scheduled for May.

The WBSC is in the process of awarding the hosting rights of the Youth Baseball5 World Cup, which is a 12-team tournament.
