Marco Corazza to manage Italy at International Blind Baseball Cup

He will replace Fabio Azzaro, who led the Italians to win the first edition in 2022. Great Britain will host the event from 27 to 29 September at Farnham Park, the UK’s only purpose-built, multifield baseball and softball facility.

Marco Corazza will manage Italy in the Blind Baseball International Cup 2024, scheduled from 27 to 29 September at the National Baseball and Softball Complex at Farnham Park in Buckinghamshire, England - just outside London.

The Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) announced in a press release they shared the decision with the Italian Blind Baseball League (LIBCI) leadership.

Corazza is the Roma All Blinds manager. He was honoured as the 2023 LIBCI Coach of the Year and has served on the National Team staff. His coaching staff will include Ilaria di Giulio (Fiorentina, a former softball player), Francesco Volo (Malnate), Lauro Lanzarini (Fortitudo Bologna White Sox, a retired baseball player who helped Bologna win one Italian Baseball League pennant) and Emilia Ammirato (University of Messina, a former softball player).

Corazza will replace Fabio Azzaro, who led Italy to first place in the inaugural International Blind Baseball Cup in 2022.

Italy will announce an expanded roster for the International Blind Baseball Cup in July and hold a selection camp on 30 August and 1 September in a location to be announced later.
