Media Accreditation now open for Baseball European Championship 2019

The tournament, to be played in Bon and Solingen, Germany, from 7 to 15 September, will promote five teams to the WBSC Europe Africa Qualification Event for the games of the XXXII Olympiad Tokyo 2020

Media registration for the 2019 Baseball European Championship in Bonn and Solingen, Germany (7-15 September) is now available and will remain open until Sunday, August 25, 2019.
The top five finishers will advance to the WBSC Europe/Africa Qualification Event for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, Tokyo 2020.

All members of the media, both local/national and international, who intend to cover the European Championship must apply via the official application form, which is available through the tournament’s official website.
Information about the distribution of media credentials will be sent by e-mail to all registered media.

Eleven of the 12 participants to the Baseball European Championship 2019 are already known: the hosts Germany, the defending champions Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Croatia, Sweden, Great Britain and Austria. The last participant will be determined with a three-game playoff series between Lithuania and Israel, to be played from 26 to 28 July in Utena, Lithuania.

Games at the Baseball European Championship will be played in Bonn (four games per day on two fields) and in Solingen (two games per day). The round-robin will take place from 7 to 11 September. The top four National Teams of each group will advance to the quarterfinals, to be played on 13 September.

The National Teams advancing to the semi-finals will advance to the WBSC Olympic Qualifier.

The fifth-place game will be played on the morning of Sunday, 15 September.

The European Championship game is set for Sunday, 15 September at 7 pm CEST in Bonn.
