The 10-team Mexican Pacific League (LMP, Liga Mexicana del Pacifico) has been suspended until 15 November, following a joint decision by team owners.
The decision came after a surge in COVID-19 cases amongst the players and follows the protocols approved before the 2020-21 season.
Players, coaches, club employees and their families will be tested intensively during the break. Games will resume on Tuesday, 17 November.
"We reaffirm our commitment to continue the campaign and have never considered a cancellation," stated an official note by the clubs.
