Mexican Softball Team to play farewell tournament in capital before heading to Tokyo Olympics

Along with Mexico’s Olympic Team, the international event will be played by the U-19 and U-17 Mexican Softball National Teams; the U-19 Peruvian National Team; Guatemala; Chile; Florida Gulf Coast and Mexico City.

The Mexican Olympic Softball Team will play in a farewell tournament in Mexico City from 8-13 June, before the squad heads to Japan for the Tokyo 2020 softball competition. The eight-team Copa Mexico 2021 in Mexico City will serve to prepare the national team for their historic Olympic debut this summer in Japan.

Along with Mexico’s Olympic Team, the international event will be played by the U-19 and U-17 Mexican Softball National Teams, the U-19 Peruvian National Team, Guatemala, Chile, and clubs from the Florida Gulf Coast and Mexico City.

Peru is using the games as preparation for this year's WBSC U-18 Softball World Cup in Lima, which will take place from 28 August to 5 September at Villa Maria del Triunfo Complex.

Chile will use the games in Mexico City to tune-up for the 2023 Pan American Games the nation is hosting in capital Santiago.
