Major League Baseball (MLB) clubs will celebrate the Jackie Robinson Day on 15 and 16 April.
Players, managers, coaches, umpires and all on-field personnel will once again wear Robinson's iconic number (at least once) on games.
The Players Alliance, the non-profit organization founded by a group of active and former MLB players and seeking to improve the representation of Black Americans in sport, plans on launching a Breaking Barriers campaign, including a commitment to support the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
David Price, Jason Heyward and Jackie Bradley are among more than 100 MLB players who have pledged to donate either their full or partial game-day salary to the Players Alliance on Jackie Robinson Day.
The legendary Robinson became the player who broke the MLB's colour barrier when he made his MLB debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers on 15 April 1947.
