No. 1 Japan continues to feature the best women's baseball programme in the world, while No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 6 Dominican Republic and No. 12 Mexico hit historical highs.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has released the latest WBSC Women’s Baseball World Rankings, which include 20 countries and territories.

Six-time defending WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup champions Japan remain the top-ranked nation in women’s baseball.

No. 2 Chinese Taipei, the 2018 WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup silver medallists, moved up one position, hitting their highest-ever ranking in women’s baseball and matching their men’s baseball world rankings.

No. 3 Canada, the 2018 bronze medallists, maintain their position among Top 3 women’s baseball programmes in the world.

No. 4 USA advanced one spot to overtake No. 5 Venezuela.

No. 6 Dominican Republic advanced to their highest-ever position in the rankings, while No. 7 Cuba advanced one spot.

No. 8 Australia fell two spots but remain Oceania’s top-ranked nation.

No. 9 Puerto Rico moved up three positions, while No. 10 Korea fell three spots, to round out the Top 10.

No. 12 Mexico advanced two spots, marking their highest-ever placement in the women's baseball rankings.
