Oceania qualifiers for U-18 Women's and Men's Softball World Cups underway in American Samoa

The top two finishers of each tournament will advance to the respective 2024 Group Stage.

The WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup Oceania qualifier - which features hosts American Samoa, World No. 7 Australia and No. 23 New Zealand - is underway in Tafuna, America Samoa.

After a three round, round-robin series, which takes place from 5-7 November, the top two teams will advance to the WBSC U-18 Women's Softball World Cup group stage next year.

Tony Solaita Field in Tafuba will host the qualifiers for the group stage of both the U-18 Women's Softball and the Men's Softball World Cups.

Tolia Tony Solaita (1947-1990) was a slugging first baseman who played for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Nippon Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

The Men's Softball World Cup Oceania qualifier will open on Thursday, 9 November. American Samoa, World No. 2 Australia and No. 7 New Zealand will play for two spots in the 2024 group stage. The format is also a triple round-robin.

The tournament will finish on Saturday, 11 November.
