The 25-year-old right-hander helped Korea to a second-place finish in the 2019 WBSC Premier12 and a XIX Asian Games title.

The San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball (MLB) announced the signing of Korean right-hander Woo-Suk Go. The two-year deal is reportedly worth US$ 4.5 million.

Born in 1998, Go made his debut in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league in 2017 for the LG Twins. He became their closer in 2019. He recorded 139 saves since.

He helped World No. 4 Korea win the XIX Asian Games and finish second in the WBSC Premier12 2019. He appeared in four games at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Go will join a bullpen that features another International Baseball star. Left-hander Yuki Matsui represented World No. 1 Japan at the inaugural WBSC Premier12 and the U-18 Baseball World Cup 2013.
