Olympic fund: Half-billion dollars to go to NOCs leading to Tokyo 2020

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved an Olympic Solidarity 2017-2020 budget of $US 509,285,000.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved an Olympic Solidarity 2017-2020 budget of US$ 509,285,000.  The IOC noted that financial injections shall go toward National Olympic Committees (NOCs) “in the greatest need benefiting from new sport development programmes”.

With baseball and softball among the new sports added at the Olympic Games, NOCs – and National Federations through their NOCs – seeking to launch or reinforce their national bat-and-ball programmes could apply for Olympic Solidarity support, as preparations for Olympic baseball and softball Tokyo 2020 take shape.

WBSC and fellow NOCs together oversee over 65 million baseball and softball athletes from 213 National Federation and Associate Members in over 140 countries worldwide.
