Over 60 youth athletes participate in first German Baseball5 Championship

Rocket Five won the final of the eight-team tournament hosted by the Berlin Sluggers.

Rocket Five beat Five Fingers Death Punch, 4-2, in the final to claim the first Baseball5 National Championship organised by the German Baseball Softball Federation (DBV).

The Berlin Sluggers hosted the event at the Paul-Rusch-Sportsfacility in the German capital.

Eight teams, including over 60 players in the 11-17 age bracket, competed in 18 Baseball5 games on two fields. The tournament involved 11 game officials.

The Green Team placed third ahead of Crosshill Creeps, Red Herrings, Berlin Sluggers, Thingamajigs and Skylarks.

"I was impressed by the tournament's positive impact within the community," commented Benji Kleiner, the German Youth Baseball5 National Team head coach.
