SFP announced the 2019 calendar of events during a public event at the Karachi Gymkhana multi-sport facility, Singh Province.

Syed Waseem Hashmi, Executive Committee Member of the Pakistan Olympic Association, attended the event together with United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Feryal Ali Gauhar, and SFP President Haider Khan Lehri.

During the event, Feryal, a former softball player and softball Ambassador in Pakistan since February 2019, commented: “My priority will be to provide more opportunities for women to play softball. I wish to see our women win for Pakistan at the international level”.

Representatives of Omar Associates, Essa Laboratories, Dam Enterprises and other companies were at the Karachi Gymkhana. Feryal urged some support from the world of business and corporation. SFP helped softball quickly develop in Pakistan. The next step would be improving infrastructures and spread the game to outer districts.

Haider Khan Lehri said that WBSC International Coaching Clinic and IOC technical Course will be attended by coaches of provincial associations, Islamabad and departmental teams. Meanwhile, players who would perform well in national championships will also be given the chance to attend the two events.

Karachi will also host the 15th National Women’s Softball Championship from 26 to 28 August. Finally, Men’s National Championship will be held in Abbottabad in September.
