TAINAN, Chinese Taipei-Panama beats Brazil and clinches seventh place in the U-12 Baseball World Cup. Germany earns first win in the tournament in Day 3 of the consolation round

Germany got their first win in the 2017 U-12 Baseball World Cup and Panama finished with a third consecutive success. This is what happened in Day 3 of the consolation round.

Germany wins (6-5) the All European match up against Czech Republic, securing their first win in the U-12 Baseball World Cup. Jeremy Trzeciak goes 5 innings (allowing 4 hits, no earned run) for the win and Moritz Koehler struggles in the sixth, allowing 2 earned runs, but earns anyway the save.
Germany took full advantage of a wild start (one walk, 3 wild pitches) by Lukas Hurta, who was amongst the best arms of the qualifying round, and scores 4 more on 7 hits on Adam Vesely. Catcher Kilian Redle goes 2 for 3 with an RBI and third baseman Jeremy Schilke adds 2 RBIs.Both are responsible of 3 defensive errors.

Panama finished with a 12-2 win against Brazil and placed on top of the consolation round and seventh overall in the U-12 Baseball World Cup. Starter Rodney Morales allowed 2 (unearned) runs and never got out of the first inning. Diego Sanjur took over and blanked Brazil, while it took only 2 at bats to the line up to reverse the lead. In total Panama had 12 hits, with center fielder Oda, Morales and Jimenez enjoying a 2 hit game.

Australia didn’t waste any time to set the pace against South Africa. They scored 6 in their first at bat against starter Josh November and never looked back, scoring 3 more and securing a 9-1 win. Brendan Regan went 4 innings for the win, while Jack Bushell pitched the last 2 innings, allowed one run and earned the save. First baseman Hyde, rightfielder Catt, center fielder Watson and catcher Purchase had all 2 hits.
