It took only four innings for Panama to top South Africa, 27-0, in both teams' final Opening Round action before they continue in the 7th-12th Placement Round.

Panama scored 26 runs in the first two innings and added one in the fourth.

The lineup combined for 19 hits against five South African pitchers. Panama hit four home runs, including a grand slam by DH Gabriel Gonzalez, four doubles and a triple. First baseman Joswal Guerra hit two home runs and had five RBIs.

Jeykel Baules went the distance allowing only one hit.

Panama and South Africa will carry respective 2-0 and 0-2 records into the placement round.
