Puerto Rico and Canada complete women's baseball friendly series

The Puerto Rican National Team faced the Canada Baseball Academy. The adult teams split a four-game series. Puerto Rico swept the U-19 six-game series.

The Puerto Rico Women's Baseball National Team completed a series of 10 friendly games with the Canada Baseball Academy from Quebec. Puerto Rico won the six U-19 games, while the adult teams split the four games, 2-2.

Carlos Ferrer, Puerto Rico Women's National Team manager, praised the initiative. "It was a good opportunity to play every day. We had a chance to see a lot of talented girls who didn't get to play in our National League. I'm pleased by the amount of talent we saw."

The tournament gave pitcher Angelis Rivera a chance to get back to action. She didn't play last season because of an injury.

The Canada Baseball Academy, based in Quebec City, is a member of Baseball Canada. They counted on seven players who will represent Canada in the Women's Baseball World Cup Finals from 28 July to 3 August.
