Qualifiers to Youth Baseball World Cups are happening in Europe

The Baseball World Cup qualifers are on the go in Europe. In this article we introduce the U-18 qualifiers and the U-12 and U-15 European Championship

A total of 10 National Teams are participating in the qualifiers to the 2018 U-18 Baseball European Championship. Next year tournament will then qualify 2 teams to the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup.

Pool 1 action of the qualifier happens in Zuerich (Switzerland). Ireland is leading so far with 3 wins. Belgium, Russia and Switzerland are tied at 2-1. The top 2 teams of the round robin will face each other in Saturday’s final. Poland (0-3) is already out of the race.

Varadin (Croatia) hosts Pool 2, that is played with the same format. Ukraine (2-0) leads unbeaten, while Austria and Sweden are tied at 2-1. Croatia and Slovakia lost both games they played.

The U-12 European Championship is on its way in Utrecht (The Netherlands) with 9 teams participating: France, Austria, Germany and the host Netherlands in Pool A; Czech Republic, Italy, Russia, Ukraine and Poland in Pool B.
The top team of each Pool will qualify for Saturday’s Championship game. This edition of the European Championship, that is played every season, is not a qualifier to the U-12 World Cup.

Starting Monday 17 July, Wiener Neustadt (Austria) will host the U-15 European Championship, a qualifier to the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup.
A total of 10 teams participate: the hosts Austria, Czech Republic, The Netherlands, Poland and Russia in Pool A; France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania and Spain in Pool B.
The top 2 teams of each Pool will advance to Saturday 22 July semi finals. The winners will qualify for the U-15 Baseball World Cup and compete for the European Title in Sunday 23 July final.
