It's the fifth league title for San Marino. The team representing the oldest European Republic plays in the Italian League thanks to an agreement between the respective Olympic Committees.
Veteran right-hander Tiago Da Silva, who helped Italy win a historic bronze medal at the Intercontinental Cup 2010 and advance to the second round of the World Baseball Classic 2013, earned two of the three wins, including Game 4 to earn MVP honours.
"It's always a team win," commented Da Silva. "I contributed only for these series. The rest of the guys worked hard from the beginning of the season. I'm glad I helped San Marino. This club helped me become the player I am."
On the roster of the Generales de Durango of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) for the 2021 season, Da Silva was a late addition to San Marino's roster.
