The baseball competition at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games moved to the Super Round with the top two teams from Groups A and B ready to battle for the medals. Panama and Brazil won their groups undefeated, while Colombia and Mexico advanced in second place.
In Group A, Panama swept the Group Stage with three wins, followed by Mexico (2-1). Dominican Republic (1-2) and Chile (0-3) finished in third and fourth place, and didn’t advance to the Super Round.
In Group B, Brazil won the three games and clinched first place, while Colombia, Cuba and Venezuela posted a 1-2 record, with the Colombians advancing to the Super Round via the tie-break rule.
The Super Round will open on Wednesday with the game between the two undefeated teams, Brazil and Panama. The winner would secure a spot in the Gold Medal Game, scheduled for 28 October.
The other three Super Round games will be played on 26 and 27 October. On Thursday, Mexico and Colombia will face off, followed by Colombia vs Panama and Mexico vs Brazil on Friday.
