The best young players in the world between the ages of 11 and 12 are wearing the country’s National Team jersey for the first time, aiming to be crowned baseball and softball’s Official World Champions in the U-12 category.

The presentation happened in a cheerful atmosphere at the Performance Hall of the city Cultural Center. WBSC Executive Director Michael Schmidt revealed the Trophies. Day one for both tournaments is scheduled on Friday, 26 July

The official pre-event press conference presentation of the 2019 U-12 Baseball World Cup and U-12 Softball World Cup, with a special appearance from the WBSC U-12 World Cup Ambassador Pokemon. 

Baseball and softball will return to the 2020 Olympics after being absent for the 2012 and 2016 editions, with baseball/softball having grown to 65 million athletes across 140 countries worldwide. The bat-and-ball sport is one of five new events added to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games programme, where baseball/softball, as the top sport in Japan, is expected to be one of the main attractions.
