Venezuela took a 4-2 lead in the fifth. Japan tied the game in the bottom half of the frame and won it on a two-out and two-strike walk-off hit by catcher Nanako Hanabusa in the bottom of the seventh. Legendary Ayami Sato pitched in relief to earn the win.

Venezuela took a 2-1 lead in the third, then Chinese Taipei took control and went on to win 10-2.
