The first-ever U-12 baseball continental qualifier in Africa was played in Gilkil, Kenya from 24 to 26 January.

Two National Teams have already qualified for the 2023 youth baseball world championship: the winner of the U-12 European Championship, Germany, and the runner-up, Czechia.

The WBSC talked to Minseo Kim, Kana Wada and Kyoko Matsumoto, the three women who umped the Chinese Taipei-Italy game together at the U-12 Baseball World Cup.

"I thought that having the privilege to be here was already an accomplishment," Anderson said after the game

The US hit four home runs, making it 27 in the tournament. James Stout pitched 4.1 innings for the win. "It was just an amazing team effort," said manager RJ Farrell.

Two heavy thunderstorms delayed the game 1 hour and 20 minutes in the top of the third. Lineups dominated pitchers early, the Dominicans gave up the lead on a couple of defensive errors.

The U-12 Baseball World Cup will have a new champion, either undefeated United States or South American powerhouse Venezuela. Defending champion Chinese Taipei will play the Dominican Republic, who are making their debut in the event, for bronze.

Chinese Taipei pitchers allowed only three hits: a home run to Woochan Jung for Korea's lead, a solo homer to En Chen and a two-RBI double to Po Yuan Chuang.

Undefeated USA used ten hits, including four home runs that brings their total to 23 in seven games of the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup.

After a bad start, pitcher Cesar Altagracia gave his team five solid innings and received support from the defence.
