Shangai beat Tianjin to win the first-ever Chinese Women's Baseball Championship.
Four teams participated in the historic tournament in Guali, a small town in the Hangzhou province. Shaoxing (Zhejiang province) finished third, and Huixian (Henan province) placed fourth.
The tournament involved over 150 players and coaches, reported the China Baseball Association. The players' age ranged between 16 and 32. Most players had previous baseball experience, but the tournament also involved high school students and beginners.
The teams combined 119 hits, including eight home runs.
The China Baseball Association used the event as a try out for the Chinese Women's Baseball National Team.
