Japan took a 10-run lead in the first two innings, with three in the first and a seven-run second at bat, to clinch their fourth consecutive win of the U-18 Baseball World Cup. The top-ranked nation in the world topped Australia, 10-0 in five innings, to remain as leaders in Group B. 

The Japanese left fielder and leadoff hitter Shogo Asano continued his hot form of the tournament going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and one RBI. He leads the world No. 1 team in batting average with .583, a sits atop of the top-scorers of the tournament with four runs.

The winner of the game was Shiki Kawahara, who tossed the last two innings of the game, blanking Australia, ranked 10th in the world, on two hits against three strikeouts. 

Japan (4-0) will face defending champions Chinese Taipei (3-0) in a battle between the two undefeated teams in Group B. This game could decide the winner of the group. Australia will meet Italy, with both teams looking for their first win in the tournament.
