The AAGPBL was formed in 1943 when the Chicago Cubs owner Phillip Wrigley realized Major League Baseball (MLB) was facing depleted rosters as a result of the war effort.

The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association (AAGPBL-PA) and the American Girls Baseball (AGB) will showcase the nation's top women players during the All-American Women's Baseball Classic and Bash, scheduled from 3 to 9 January 2022 in Sarasota, Florida.

The first event is a skills clinic for young women that will take place at Ed Smith Stadium on 3 January. The day after, the players will start a two-day training camp.

The 60 players will split into four teams, named after the AAGPBL original teams: Peaches, Blue Sox, Belles, Comets. They will compete from 6 to 8 January in a round-robin format. The top two teams will advance to the final, scheduled for Sunday, 9 January.

The Baseball Bash is scheduled on Saturday, 8 January, at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota. It will include an AAGPBL player reunion and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the movie A League of their Own, that made the league known all over the world.

The Awards Ceremony will take place after the championship game on Sunday, 9 January.

AAGPBL-PA is made up of former players of the 1940s and 1950s and supporters of the league. AGB was born in 2019 from an idea by former AAGPBL player Sue Parsons Zipay to help grow baseball for girls.
