Spain and France open European Baseball season; Germany, Switzerland, Czechia, Netherlands, Italy to follow

The Spanish Baseball League and the French Division 1 opened on 18 March. Action will begin on 31 March in Germany and in Switzerland and Czechia on 1 April. The Dutch Hoofdklasse and the Italian Serie A will follow.

Spain and France opened the European baseball season.

The 11-team Spanish Baseball League started on 18 March. Valencia Astros, Tenerife Marlins and Viladecans Barcelona lead undefeated after four games.
The Royal Spanish Baseball Softball Federation implemented the WBSC live scoring system.

Ten teams, split into two groups, participate in the French Division 1 championship.
The 2023 season opened on 18 March. The top finishers will advance to the playoffs.
Montigny Cougars and Rouen lead with a 3-1 record in Group A, while Montpellier Barracudas and Senart Templiers are on top of Group B undefeated.

The Czech ExtraLiga will open on Friday, 31 March, with two games; Arrows Ostrava-Sokol Hluboka and Trebic Nuclears-Eagles Prague. The other four teams will take the field on Saturday, 1 April.

The German Bundesliga will also open on Friday, 31 March, with the game between Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and the Mannheim Tornados. The 13 participants are split into the North and South Divisions. The top four finishers of each division will advance to the playoffs.

Therwil Flyers-Zürich Challengers will open the Swiss National League on Saturday, 1 April. The top baseball competition in Switzerland will feature five participating teams in 2023.

The Dutch Hoofdklasse scheduled the opening day on Thursday, 6 April. HCAW Bussun-Amsterdam Pirates and Neptunus Rotterdam-Kinheim Haarlem will take the field. Nine teams will participate in the 2023 regular season.

The Italian Serie A will open with 14 games on Saturday, 15 April. The 30 participants will split into five groups, with the top two finishers advancing to the title phase that will lead to the Italian Baseball Series.
