Five players of the U-18 European Champion team will return for the World Cup, left-handed slugger Pablo Costales, infielder Anderson Peña, right-handed pitchers Angelo Rodriguez, Juan Salazar and Diego San Miguel.
Former professional pitcher Jorge Luis Riera, who led Spain in the historic 2022 European campaign, will return as manager. His staff will include pitching coach Frank Sanchez and assistant coaches Miquel Erroz and Edgar Hernández.
World No. 21 Spain is included in Group B. They will debut against No. 1 Japan in the final game on Friday, 1 September, at Tianmu Stadium in Taipei City.
They will also face No. 2 USA, No. 6 Venezuela, No. 7 Netherlands and No. 11 Panama.
