The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) today announced the 18-game Super Round and the Placement Round schedule of the WBSC Baseball5 World Cup, which runs from 11-12 November at El Zocalo in Mexico City.
Following amazing drama on the final day of the Opening Round, the six participants in the Super Round will start with the following win-loss records (based on results over fellow Super Round teams during the Opening Round):
Cuba (2-0), Venezuela
(2-0); Japan (1-1), Chinese Taipei (1-1); Mexico
(0-2), Tunisia (0-2)

will start with the following win-loss records (based on results over fellow
Placement Round teams during the Opening Round):
South Africa (2-0), Kenya (2-0); Lithuania (1-1), France (1-1); Hong Kong (0-2), Korea (0-2)
One of the tournament favourites Venezuela will take on Japan in the opening Super Round game on centre court at 10:00 on Thursday.
The other tournament favourite Cuba will play Tunisia in the second game at 11:30.
The crunch encounter will be the first scheduled game in the evening session between Cuba and Venezuela at 16:00.
The Placement Round will take place on Court 2 with Hong Kong and Korea starting proceedings at 09:30.
The top two
teams after the Super Round will advance to the World Championship Final while
the third and fourth place sides will contest the bronze medal game. The medal
games will take place on Saturday, 12 November at 17:00 and 19:00 respectively.
