After the 30-game Opening Round, world No. 5 USA, No. 3 Korea and No. 8 the Netherlands advanced to the Super Round as the top-three teams in Group A; while defending world champions and world No. 2 Chinese Taipei won Group B undefeated, followed by No. 1 Japan and No. 4 Mexico.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation today announced the nine-game Super Round schedule for the XXX WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, which opens on Thursday 14 September in Bradenton and Sarasota, Florida, USA. 

After the 30-game Opening Round, world No. 5 USA, No. 3 Korea and No. 8 the Netherlands advanced to the Super Round as the top-three teams in Group A; while defending world champions and world No. 2 Chinese Taipei won Group B undefeated, followed by No. 1 Japan and No. 4 Mexico.

All six teams will enter the Super Round carrying over their respective Opening Round head-to-head records. As a result, Chinese Taipei and USA (2-0) will start the Super Round on top of the standings, followed by Japan and Korea with 1-1 records. Mexico and the Netherlands will have a 0-2 record following group play.

Mexico and Netherlands will officially start the Super Round action on Thursday, 15 September, at 9:00 a.m. local time at LECOM Park, with the games Japan vs Korea, and USA vs Chinese Taipei following at 4:00 p.m., at LECOM Stadium and Ed Smith Park respectively. 

The top two teams at the conclusion of the Super Round will compete For the Title of World Champion at Ed Smith Park on Sunday, 18 September, at 2:00 p.m.. Third and fourth place finishers will play the Bronze Medal Game at 10:00 a.m..

World No. 25 Brazil (2-0), No. 13 Panama (2-0), No. 12 Canada (1-1), No. 10 Australia (1-1), No. 26 South Africa (0-2) and No. 17 Italy (0-2) will play the Placement Round for positions 7-12.

Hosts USA - the only team to compete in all previous 29 editions of the U-18 Baseball World Cup - have won the most medals with 26, including nine gold and four straight titles from 2012 to 2017. Chinese Taipei have won the title three times including the last edition in 2019. Korea have been U-18 World Champions five times, the last time in 2008, while Japan is looking for their first gold medal to join their four silver and bronze.

Mexico will be aiming to better their best ever result (4th in 2006 and 1992) while the Netherlands have never finished better than 6th (2010, 1994 & 1993). For more info, click here.
