Taal M'Bi Yameogo of Koudougou repeats as Burkina Faso baseball high school and college champions

"High schools have a formidable pool of talent," commented the National Federation president Ibrahima Sibore after the finals. "That's why we must have this National Championship every year."

The Higher Institute Taal M'Bi Yameogo of Koudougou won the baseball National Championship of high schools and colleges in Burkina Faso. They defeated the Province Lyceum of Bassy de Ziniaré in the final, 11-2.

The Burkina Faso Baseball and Softball Federation (FBBS) hosted the finals on the field of the Sports Science and Human Development Institute (Institut des Sciences du Sport et du Développement Humain, ISSDH) in Ouagadougou.

The top four schools in the country participated in the finals. The mixed Lyceum of Gounghin finished third. The Zagtouli Lyceum finished fourth.

Bassy's pitcher Issaka Nana was honoured as the best player of the finals. Samira Kafando of Gounghin received a special mention as the only girl participating in the finals.

"We believe high schools have a formidable talent pool," commented FFBS president Ibrahima Sibore. "That's why we must have this National Championship every year.

Japanese Ambassador to Burkina Faso Masaaki Kato attended the finals together with Keiichi Okitu, the resident representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, representatives of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other sports Federations presidents.
