Thailand holds Women’s National Softball Team tryouts for Asian Games

The 21 selected players will have another tryout for the coming Asian Games 2022 to select the 17 athletes for the final roster.

The Softball Association of Thailand (SBAT) held their Women’s National Softball Team tryout on 12-13 February, aiming to select the players to compete at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games. The continental multi-sports event will be held in China from 10-25 September.

A total of 21 athletes were selected from the 83 players who attended the tryout. Technical skills, fitness assessment and game components were part of the analysing and selection process.

SBAT will make another cut to get their national team roster down to 17 for the coming Hangzhou Asian Games 2022.

Thailand finished eighth in the Asian Women’s Softball Championship 2019 and is the current No. 41 in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Rankings.
