The Spanish Federation celebrates the 25th anniversary of Barcelona Olympic Baseball Tournament
BARCELONA, Spain-The 25th anniversary of the 1992 baseball tournament couldn’t feature a game because of an airport strike, but the event was celebrated anyway on Viladecans field
There was no game to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1992 baseball tournament in the Barcelona Olympics. An unexpected strike by the personnel of Malpensa International Airport (Milan) made it impossible to deliver the playing gear of the Italian team in time for the game.
The ceremony took place anyway.The group of volunteers who served in 1992 where honored together with umpire Salvador Rodriguez, who will retire after the 2017 season. Deputy Mayor of Viladecans Richard Calle threw a ceremonial first pitch.
