Three US training camps for Canada in preparation for WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup

The Spring schedule includes three training camps in April, May and June.

Baseball Canada announced that the U-18 National Team will open camp in April in the United States to start its preparation for the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

From 13 to 23 April U-18 Canada will work out in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Spring Training facility of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB), the same venue which hosted the WBSC Baseball Americas Qualifier last year for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The stay will include 11 games against Astros, Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals minor league teams.

The second part of the preparation is scheduled from 11 to 21 May in the Dominican Republic. Canada, ranked No. 12 in the world, will play 16 games against MLB-affiliated academy teams.

In June, the Canadian U-18 National Team will fly again to the US for a training camp. Daily workouts and games against professional teams are the core of the programme of the stay at the Toronto Blue Jays complex in Dunedin, Florida,

The XXX WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup is scheduled from 9 to 18 September in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida.

So far 11 National Teams have qualified:

Americas (5): No. 4 Mexico, No. 5 USA, No. 12 Canada, No. 13 Panama, No. 25 Brazil.
Asia (3): No. 1 Japan, No. 2 Chinese Taipei, No. 3 Korea.
Europe (2)
: No. 8 Netherlands, No. 17 Italy.
Oceania (1): No. 10 Australia

The National Team qualified out of Africa will be the 12th participant.
