Welcome back to the WBSC Top-10 Baseball Plays of the Year, a review of the best 10 plays in the WBSC Baseball World Cups in 2023. At No. 7, Esmeiquel Arrieche, Venezuelan third baseman, delivers an electric diving catch at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup.

Spain and Venezuela played their Opening Round game on 3 September, with both teams looking for their first win of the tournament in their third match. 

In the top of the second, with a runner on first, Venezuelan third baseman Arrieche made an outstanding diving catch to rob Spain's Anderson Peña of a base hit and end the second inning, helping his team to hold a 1-0 lead. 

The score remained unchanged until the sixth inning, when Spain tied the game at one, and Venezuela grabbed a definitive 6-1 lead to clinch the win.
